    Fed Up Voter

At City Council’s Community Services Committee last Thursday, Diane Deans, chairwoman of community & protective services (Social Services) which oversees nursing homes stated ‘it is not right to compare the hours of care a city-run nursing home gives with the hours given in a private nursing home’. She also suggested the city is not doing too badly.
Dean Lett, deputy to Janice Burelle & in charge of nursing homes, finally had to correct her as Deans was comparing nursing homes and retirement homes.
Deans is the Chair, an experienced councilor, and had over 2 months to review the material.
Does such a lack of knowledge indicate an inability to understand the basics, a lack of interest, laziness or all of the foregoing.
Seems it afflicts far too many of our councilors!

That’s how you get the results you want, just compare apples and oranges. I hope Ms.Deans apologized.

And, really, shouldn’t she be looking for the city to provide great care and not worrying what others are doing.
