Premier Kathleen Wynne said something to the tune of knowing she was disliked.
In my opinion the voters in Ontario have done a lousy analysis.
Too many people have jumped on the Hydro issue. WELL GUESS WHAT :
– from extensive insider knowledge, I will tell you that Ontario Hydro had been ill managed since the 1960’s.
– several governments TRIED to fix the mess but all of them failed miserably.
– the Liberals tried to correct the ship but made two huge missteps: the gas-plant fiasco being one and the sell-off being the other. The gas plant decision was covered-up (shame on the Liberals) and the reasoning behind the sell-off wasn’t well explained. A far better job of explaining the sell off was needed (Liberals really blew that one – not necessarily blew the sell-off but blew informing the public of the rational behind the decision)
On the plus side there have been moves on tuition, pharma, infrastructure , all-day schooling, and dental-care improvements were coming and I think someone was at least looking at the plight of people on ODSP and social assistance.
So, Kathleen Wynne – I do not dislike you.

I think history will be a lot kinder to Kathleen Wynne that the voters of Ontario seem prepared to be on Thursday.
The electoral results will, I fear, be not so much the outcome of a serious assessment of the various parties, -their proposed policies/programs and the people they’ve put forward as candidates or leaders as a response to a light-on-the-facts, heavy-on-the-rhetoric approach taken to the campaign by one party in particular. Many people don’t bother to do their own research but accept the easy answers they are being handed to the tough questions they should be asking.
We may all have four long years to rue the change we are about to get.June 6, 2018 at 8:25 AM #752420
