This topic could be under International, National, Ontario or Ottawa.
Imagine having a loved one locked-up, perhaps injured or dying at the hands of government employees and then imagine that you can’t get timely answers.
I am starting this topic because it does happen. It happens in foreign countries and it happens in Canada too. Ottawans have one ongoing case also.
Here is a death, while in police custody, where the family still has no answers a year after a death. Even though the family filed FOI paperwork their request was denied.

A family must certainly have the right to know what was done to their son and they shouldn’t need to jump through hoops to get closure!
