Sisco Ferraro brings up a good point in a comment on the main Bulldog.
“We look to our leaders for guidance, not game-playing, which is another reason we see fewer 50 per cent of the populace showing up at the polls when it’s time to vote.”
You know, you can’t blame people for not voting. You spend a lifetime seeing patronage, waste, arrogance, ineffectiveness, secrecy and stupidity. Maybe people just give up on the system.
They have every reason to over the last 12 years of municipal government in Ottawa.
Sometimes it makes me feel that these five years doing The Bulldog could have been better spent. Then I see the comments and I realize why I’m doing this.
Change is a very slow frustrating thing.

Thanks for the mention, Ken. As I’ve stated on more than one occasion, I’m new to The Bulldog and was surprised at first to see your readership in excess of 180,000. Now I think the city would benefit if that number exceeded 500,000. Please don’t stop what you’re doing. It’s very refreshing and you have a number columnists and Mike Patton, “the video guy”, who are first rate.
If Watson made your website required reading for all local voters, I’m sure we’d see two benefits:
1. an increase in voters at the polls, and;
2. a mayor who cleaned up his act and worked harder for the electorate than he does for himself.February 14, 2018 at 12:44 AM #745376
