Get Poked In The Eye With A Stick Again

Don’t politics just make you ill sometimes.

Mayor Jim Watson’s election rally this weekend showed him to be a man of the people. He was speaking and the trained seals just kept on clapping and cheering.

A happy Mayor Jim Watson supporter.

Yes the man of the people. This month the high-rise and zoning report has been kept out of the eyes of the people as much as human possible by politicians and the planning department. That’s because planning, developers and politicians wanted what they wanted, not necessarily what the people wanted. So much for the man of the people.

So having poked the people in the eye with a stick, there’s our mayor asking the public to give him four more years to poke them in the eye with a stick again.

Like a stick in the eye? Vote Jim Watson 2018.

  1. So the city staff thinks it is “most logical” to sell the old library to the guy next door and forego any process that would invite others to make an offer.

Well – there’s that poke it the eye with another stick.

Citizens of Ottawa will revolt someday?

After the high-rise report, I don’t believe much of anything city staff recommends … including city budgeting.

      1. Oh Ken,
You, rightfully so, weren’t believing much of anything coming out of city staff for a while.

I watched as your glowing welcome to Mr. Kanellakos changed to disbelief. This latest farce from planning pushed you from disbelief to complete disgust.

Stay disgusted and keep shining light into those dark corners. Someday you may be able to look back and take some credit for a change at city hall but, that’s only going to happen if 75 to 80 per cent of Ottawans get up off the chesterfield and vote in November.

I might have to get off my chair if a furious city staff sends bulldozers to my house.
