Hubley Forgets His Train Whistle: Whopper Watch

“It would have been a lot of fun. I do love trains.”

Kanata South Councillor Allan Hubley on why he would have liked to have brought his train whistle on his first Ottawa LRT ride this week.

Rejoice Kanata … Hubley is your man.

Of course an extension of light rail to Kanata is not even in the city’s plans out to 2031 because it is too expensive. It’s too expensive because the municipality has blown the bank account on its gold-plated first two phases which will no doubt win some obscure city staffers some awards.

Couldn’t they have cut the price in half and got a plaque from Mayor Jim Watson? There’s lots of extra ones in the city hall basement.

Yessirree, no planned LRT for Kanata past 2031. Where were you on that, Allan Hubley?

Kanata South might not get a new light-line but they could get a new councillor as early as Oct. 22.

  1. Pretty sad – a man with a train whistle but no train. I see a movie in this.
Maybe this explains some things about Councillor Hubley … not sure what exactly though.
