Cyclists are being killed, injured or having accidents on the city’s downtown bike lanes.
Many of these accidents are occurring in front of Ottawa City Hall.
So should the city be building new downtown bike lanes when accidents are occurring on its main Laurier Avenue bike lanes? As well, are the economic, safety, return-on-investment and environment issues associated with bike lanes being properly studied by city hall? Should the city be constructing new bike lanes before the safety audit of the Laurier Avenue example is completed? And does the half-year nature of the lanes (due to winter) justify their expense?
The poll is now closed. The final results will appear in Monday’s Bulldog.
