Olympic Joy, Concern At Home

Good news: Rebecca McCaffrey has been found.

For the last two weeks we enjoyed the celebration of youth at the Rio Olympic Games.

Then our eyes return home.

A recent media story tells of the murdered 30-year-old Marielle Portelance whose body was found July 29 at Grenville-sur-la-Rouge.

Then we learn of the all the people searching for Rebecca McCaffrey, a 30-year-old who went missing in the old west end less than a week ago.

We hope for all the best for McCaffery and that she is found safe and sound.

But there is concern around her disappearance and sadness at the murder Portelance.

The two local young people stand in stark contrast to the youthful Olympic joy and show us the two sides of life.
