Speculation Has Gourlay Running In Kanata North

Ottawa Champions president David Gourlay has stepped down from his post and speculation has begun about what he will do next.

Gourlay is a very close friend of Mayor Jim Watson and talk at Ottawa City Hall is that he will run in Kanata North in the upcoming October municipal election.

Current long-time Kanata North Councillor Marianne Wilkinson is expected to retire leaving the ward open.

  1. Marianne retiring? I will believe when I see it. She has scammed previous excellent contenders with that line.
With regards to David Gourlay … the last thing this city needs is another Jimmy bobblehead.

  2. I was about to type a reply but I see that Anne Marie O’Dale basically said everything I was going to say.

Yes, Marianne Wilkinson is the standard bearer of the “I originally said I was only going to be a councillor for _____ terms but the constituents were begging me at their doors/community events to run again to finish the job that I had started etc. etc.’.”
