Sue Sherring Leaves Postmedia

The outpouring of good wishes to Ottawa City Hall veteran journalist Sue Sherring is heartwarming.

Like so many journalists these days, she has taken a buyout from Postmedia. The ranks of the media at city hall continues to thin. It is alarming.

Wonder how long it will be before there is one reporter left there … or none?

These are sad days for those of us who care about keeping an eye on government while keeping the public informed.

Good luck, Sue.

  1. Sue Sherring’s leaving is a great loss. Her columns were always very informative and, whether you agreed or disagreed with her comments, she spoke honestly and forthrightly.
Honest, informative reporting is becoming increasingly rare.

  2. We not only lose Sue’s reporting but her ‘corporate memory” that allowed her to call BS on things going on at city hall. It’s going to be much easier for people to get away with things now.

I didn’t always agree with her but I respected her work.
