What Is Hobbs’ Day Job?

Oh good grief.

Our Katherine Hobbs, the daytime councillor for Kitchissippi, is back sampling the stage. This time it is in the Vagina Monologues.

After her work last week on under the lights as Beyonce recently and now this, perhaps she should be looking at a new career in theatre. Ottawa is too small for someone like her.

    Not sure what you are referring to in the baseball analogies as the game has managed to completely pass me by…but I think what you are referring to is the fact that Katherine Hobbs in her actions sets herself up for your responses.

    I’m really not sure what would make you happy in terms of growth and development…there is the infill route and intensifying within what we have now or you go the entire other route and you end up with the type of development that Walton are pushing. The type of land development fuelled by land speculation can be found in Florida. Not exactly the greatest for infrastructure costs, public transit, schooling, proximity to commercial/employment lands, etc.

    In terms of the Walton application, my belief is that it will be tied up for years and years and will be unlikely to see any actual development activity.

    Ken,
    You look small when you attack a politician for participating in events that are important in a community. The Don’t Quit Your Day Job event was a fundraiser for the Magnetic North Theatre festival and attracted the likes of Elizabeth May, Steven Beckta and many CBC journalists.

    The Vagina Monologues is raising money for The Sexual Assault Support Centre of Ottawa (SASC) and the V-Day Spotlight Campaign and is an important world-wide awareness event about sexuality and violence against women.

    Also, not everything is about land development. People have multiple thoughts and interests, and it looks completely insane to try and link these good efforts to your disagreement about what constitutes good intensification of a growing city.

    Good grief, sir.

    @Luke

    If a pitcher throws you two hanging curves, do you lay off them because you feel sorry for the pitcher?

    Hobbs doesn’t keep pitching for odd development, does she?

    cheers and thx for the comment

    Ken…with all due respect your obsession with Katherine Hobbs and every thing she says or does (outside of office hours most of the time) is getting unseemly. We get it…you don’t like her and because she doesn’t agree with your point of view then she gets lots of articles in your blog. I am not surprised that she doesn’t respond to your questions to her etc….
