“We’ve all heard feedback from the community about proposed changes to transit fares included in the draft 2025 budget.”

Mayor Mark Sutcliffe on 60 per cent transit fare increase for seniors

No you didn’t.

You might have heard it but you didn’t listen.

You’re trying to get poor seniors to cover transit mistakes by you and your mentor.

Oh yes, and this. You continue to allow free Wednesday senior days but cut free Sundays. Sunday is church day for the poor elderly.

This might be the biggest political error your agent has seen since starting to cover municipal affairs in 1998.

It’s one thing to mess with seniors but cutting free buses to church? Does Sutcliffe realize who he’s messing with there? Does he really want to have to explain this to St. Peter at the Gate? This may well ensure that he never gets anywhere near St. Peter.

It’s just occurred to me that free Sundays are a very Christian-centric perq. What about seniors who worship on days other than Sunday? Of course, if transit was free every day for seniors, this wouldn’t be an issue.
