    And what if the students don’t want to “collaborate” with him to raise the cost of their transit pass? It would be very odd if they did unless he has some other incentive to put on the table. Does he understand that they are coming to the table with a contract in their pocket and they don’t have to give up that contract until it’s over?

    Ask the students at UofO about the transit station they lost when the O-Train went in. Ask the students at Carleton about how they lost their train altogether for years. Get them to tell you how OC Transpo didn’t do anything to reduce their U-Pass when they removed services. Then ask them if they think they should be paying more now. As for Algonquin, they still haven’t even seen the train.

    If you want to collaborate, you require a willing partner on the other side, usually someone who stands to benefit from whatever it is you’re working on. What has he got to offer the students?
