The city set the rules, via the Official Plan, on what form of housing it will countenance to be built. In response, the market place (home buyers) are purchasing homes in towns like Carleton Place, Almonte, Arnprior and Kemptville.
Good point, Ron. As people move farther from city centre there will be less need for OC Transpo and more vehicles on the roads. Unless, unless . . . Ottawa asks the province for a GO train-like system in which case they’ll have another project to screw up. Good luck to city hall asking Doug Ford for help on that front.
