Cat’s Out Of The Bag On Funding Presser

Ah one of those mystery press conferences. Must be something big.

“Come to our press conference. It must be something big. We’re bringing in these huge names so we’ve go money for you. We need the publicity. You won’t be disappointed … trust us.”

Here’s a hint for you. The PDF for the press release is “Ottawa Baseline Funding Allocation.” Methinks the cat is out of the bag. You can take it from there.

This is a joint release from the City of Ottawa and the Government of Canada:

Members of the media are invited to an infrastructure  announcement with the Honourable Jenna Sudds, Minister of Families, Children and Social  Development, the Honourable David McGuinty, Minister of Public Safety, and Mark Sutcliffe,  Mayor of Ottawa.

The Ministers and the Mayor will be accompanied by the Honourable Mona Fortier, Chief Government Whip and Member of Parliament for Ottawa-Vanier, Yasir Naqvi, Parliamentary  Secretary to the Minister of Health and Member of Parliament for Ottawa Centre and Anita  Vandenbeld, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Development and Member  of Parliament for Ottawa West-Nepean.

A media availability will follow the announcement.

Another example of Buying your votes? with your money?

  2. Ron Benn says:

Baseline? Baseline Road or baseline as in the base from which things are measured?

If this relates to the Baseline Road Rapid Transit Corridor (or words to that effect) what is missing from the list of invitees are College Ward Councillor Laine Johnson and River Ward Councillor Riley Brockington. Could this possibly be because red is not the primary colour in their political allegiances?

I know this is nit-picky but who are they sending this press release to that they have to specify (last line) that Ottawa is in Ontario??
