Our Long Transit Nightmare Is Over: PATTON
Well, almost over. Premier Doug Ford’s election promise is to upload the O-Trains to the province.
Mike Patton is the former communications director for Mayor Larry O’Brien and the president of the Ottawa West-Nepean PC Association.

Correction: This is not a government announcement, it’s just a campaign promise and may or may not come to pass after the election.
Even if they do take over LRT, will they take all the headaches and problems with it? Will they absorb all the associated debt? How about present and future court cases and any resulting payouts?
Will they take over all the construction and operation of the LRT? Will all the planned/proposed sections get built and, if so, when? Are they taking over buses as well as trains? If not, how will the two systems be co-ordinated?
This is far, far from over. In fact, until the election is over and the new government makes this a policy and attached some money to it in a budget, it’s just talk.
And talk isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.
