Oh The Horror … Pickleball: PATTON
You probably don’t know this but we have another crisis on top of the other crises in this challenged city.
And our man Mike Patton will tell you about it now:
Mike Patton is the former communications director for Mayor Larry O’Brien and the president of the Ottawa West-Nepean PC Association.

Oh, the horror of it! How will the City ever be able to respond to such an outrage?
I can totally see how this should be a priority for City staff. The poor neighbours! Let’s put aside for a while the concerns about people sleeping in the streets in sub-zero weather; the multi-billion dollar boondoggle that passes for an LRT system; the huge and growing hole in the City’s finances and all those other insignificant things the City’s been working on.
Question: Why aren’t these neighbours being told the same thing as residents of the Glebe who raise issues of noise/traffic from Lansdowne or the people in the area of Wellington and Preston when they tell the City about similar issues in relation to music festivals at Lebreton Flats? The response there is basically “Suck it up or move.”
One potential solution for the city’s latest crisis is to move all the fun-loving pickelballers into sprung shelters.. That’ll reduce the noise for residents living in, presumably, child-free neighbourhoods. By the way, what progress has been made on the last crisis, rat-infestation?
