Execution By Health Care New Ford Edict
Ontario Premier Doug Ford has decided to resurrect capital punishment by sending people to the Ontario health system.
“We just have so many potential options! Some people might say too many,” one provincial aidie enthused, handing out newly-made ‘Ontario: Open For Death’ hats to passers-by. “We could condemn the prisoner to wait in a busy ER for 26 hours with an extremely treatable infection, or have them waste away in front of a family clinic waiting for its one overworked doctor to have space for them. Ooh! Or maybe getting trampled to death lying on a hospital floor because there aren’t enough beds!”

While I agree Ontario’s health system has become a disaster under Doug Ford, we should not ignore the fact that the system is abused by a number of people, many of whom head to the emergency room when they have an issue no more serious than a paper cut or headache. I’d propose a $5 charge for anyone who decides their ailment is an emergency. Needless to say people would think twice before heading to the nearest emergency room. Eliminating unnecessary visits would reduce wait times and the additional revenues could be used to add emergency staff to our hospitals. Since all Ontarians should benefit from health care, a special ID card could be provided to those who do not have the funds to afford the $5 charge. If we don’t do something it’s only a matter of time before someone like fElon Musk does a hatchet job to the benefits we receive in Ontario and the rest of Canada.
