Lansdowne: Prof Predicts City Wants Ont. Money
University of Ottawa professor Evan Potter predicts where the Lansdowne issue goes next. And that’s to Queen’s Park.
From X:
2/4 Answer: probably A, B & C. Bluntly, @FordNation doesn’t need #Ottawa, #ottcity needs him. Look for more cringeworthy staged photos of @_MarkSutcliffe @FordNation meant to show how Mayor is on Premier’s speed dial. He’s not. What next…? @DevineSean @KenGray @KatePorter613

4/4 @fordnation cash for #lansdowne 2.0 is yet more politics heaped on a highly politicized file that has to be settled at Council this fall. New #lansdowne tax on #ottawa homeowners will be very unpopular when #ottcity services deteriorating. @KenGray @DevineSean @WilsonLo24

It will be interesting to see the input from previous Ottawa councillors now at Queens Park should the Lansdowne subject rear its ugly head.
In one corner, we will have Lansdowne Bobblehead George Darouze who blindly followed the lead of some people whose judgement has been more than clouded on this file. In the other will be Catherine McKenney, a solid opponent of the various iterations of Lansdowne. She, of course, will have a huge head start over Darouze since she’s actually argued her side often in the past unlike Darouze who sat on the sidelines when on council.
