One hopes that one is not flattering themselves on this but below is the question your agent sent to media relations concerning disputes and lawsuits surrounding the light-rail project.

Folks: What are the dollar values of disputes and lawsuits over $10 million concerning the light-rail project?

I’d like a list of the disputes and lawsuits with each occurrence showing its dollar value. That includes disputes and lawsuits that have not been released to the public which the public has very much a right to know as citizens and taxpayers. If you cannot provide exact figures give the public a realistic estimate.

Ottawans need full accountability of the actions of their representatives and public servants as is prescribed in the values of a democracy.

Special Ottawa City Council Meeting on April 2

A Special Ottawa City Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 2 at 9:30 am. The purpose of the meeting is to consider the following item:

Stage 1 Light Rail Transit (LRT) Legal Updates and Related Remedial Matters

The item is to be considered in camera pursuant to Procedure By-law (By-law No. 2022-410), Subsections 13 (1)(e), litigation or potential litigation affecting the City, and 13(1)(f), the receiving of advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose.

And this is the agenda for the special meeting. Note the “… including communications necessary for that purpose.”

Is it MFIPPA time? Even if they’re totally redacted, we’d know that documents exist. And where there are documents, there is information. Even if we don’t get it yet.
