New Bus Routes: Can You Say Chaos? THE VOTER
April 28th, the first weekday for the new OC Transpo bus service, will be utter chaos as people go out to bus stops that might or might not be in service to catch buses that might or might not still exist.
If the bus still exists, it may be re-numbered and/or come at a different time and take you somewhere other than where it took you before.
Any connections you might rely on to get you to your final destination might or might not show up as expected at your transfer point. If they do turn up, Lord knows where they’re bound.
Add to all of this the fact that your driver will be starting on this new system as well and might not be able to help you with any solutions that would allow you to get to your intended destination at all never mind on time. Since the changes are so widespread, don’t even bother to try calling the bus company’s info line to find out how to get where you want to go. Unless, of course, listening to a persistent busy signal floats your boat.
The resulting mess will push more people away from transit and into a vehicle, the exact opposite of what OC Transpo’s primary goal should be. Another sterling effort by Transpo’s Renee Amilcar and her collection of transit-killers. But councillors will get a nice new collection of promo items for the “new and improved” bus and train network.

Voter. Although OC Transpo will frustrate much of its ridership with the upcoming changes, the city will benefit from the new motto expected to keep everyone cheery “New Ways to Bus”. La la la la!
Mafame Voter … does it ever end?
The mass confusion, mixed messages, never ending change … One would think that getting the LRT fixed would be top priority but, no.
Here we are … the City that screws up everything and fixes nothing yet expects full compliance from residents and taxpayers alike.
Another head scratcher …
Just clicked with me that April 28th, the first weekday of the new bus system, is also our federal election day. I wonder how many will set out to vote and not make it there, either because you can no longer get ‘there’ from ‘here’ or because they give up in sheer frustration due to the changes.
