Biker Church Got No OPS Invite: Police

The Ottawa Police Service says its liaison team has not encouraged members of a biker church to attend demonstrations.

This from Press Progress quoting the OPS:

“Pastor Rob McKee of the Capital City Bikers’ Church stated that he had been invited by a member of the OPS Police Liaison Team, to attend ‘numerous’ protests in Ottawa, We can confirm that this statement is inaccurate.”

“No member of the Police Liaison Team has ever invited individuals or groups to attend protests or demonstrations.”

  1. waba WHAT? says:

Police are a part of society, which means some will be good and follow a policy and some will stray from official “policy”. It was evident due to the COVID Vaccine policy – implemented the same weekend the Convoy showed up, there was a higher support for the anti-vaccine cause in the OPS. We all saw it on the news, “what can we do to stop this?” excuse by several Officers. For those, enforcing court orders, bylaws and provincial laws was optional.

That’s interesting. Does the OPS know the content of every conversation that every liaison officer has ever had with a member of the community?

Remember that this is the same police force some of whose members faced disciplinary action for doing things like donating to the truckers’ convoy at the same time as the force was supposed to be policing the activities of said convoy. We also heard that OPS officers were tipping off the convoy on planned police actions. Was the force aware of those things as they were happening or afterwards?

Wonder why I don’t have much faith in this denial …

Can we at least hear it from Officer Derek, the person who is supposed to have had these conversations with Rob McKee? Not, of course, that that would necessarily be believable either.
