New City Security Insults Taxpayers: CULLEN

Former Bay councillor Alex Cullen is concerned about the process behind new city security:

The decision to put more security checks at Ottawa City was made without public input concerning access to the public’s and was made behind closed floors.

It is an affront to the taxpayers who paid for this building, which was designed to accommodate public passage from Lisgar Street to Laurier Avenue.

Just wondering about the qualifications for the new security officers and what their “powers” will be. Ottawa about to hire the equivalent of American ICE agents? Bullies, goons? or TRAINED to deal with the public on a compassionate, understanding basis? Able to defuse issues or confront and escalate? Pay peanuts you know what you get!
