Some Great News From Carleton University

We’ve had a lot of bad news recently but here is some spectacular news from the basketball factory at Carleton University:

Brasilia, Brazil (May 31, 2025) – The Carleton Ravens have captured back-to-back FISU America 3×3 Championships following a 21-14 win over the University of Chile.

The final was an incredibly physical battle with both teams putting everything on the line. Carleton led 6-5 after a high-paced opening three minutes before the squad from Chile would take the lead. Strong defence from the Ravens swung the momentum and allowed Carleton to power back into the lead for good.

This is a release from Carleton University:

The Ravens reached their third straight FISU 3×3 final with a convincing 21-7 win over the University of Azuay (Ecuador) in the semifinals. The Ravens completed the tournament with a perfect 6-0 record after sweeping through Pool A on Thursday.

“What an amazing performance from this group,” said Ravens head coach Dani Sinclair. “They prepared themselves so well for these moments, and each of them stepped up in a big way every game.”

Coach Sinclair’s Ravens have adapted to the 3×3 game incredibly well, having now repeated as FISU America champions. In November, the group also claimed the silver medal at the FISU 3×3 World Cup event in China.

“We’ve had an amazing time,” said Ravens 3×3 veteran Jacqueline Urban. “We’re grateful to be here to represent Carleton and play with each other one last time.” For Urban and her teammates, the win was about finishing the 2025 season on a strong note. “It feels good finishing off the season this way because our season hadn’t ended the way we wanted it to.”

Urban and teammate Kyana-Jade Poulin each earned their third FISU medals and second gold. For graduating guard Dorcas Buisa, the tournament marked her second FISU America gold while teammate Tatyanna Burke earned gold in her first tournament appearance.
