Toronto LRT Woes Related To Ottawa Fiasco
An interesting paragraph Tuesday morning from a Globe and Mail story discussing the 30-day testing period for the five-years late Eglinton light-rail line. It relates to Ottawa’s LRT woes:
—
The exhaustive testing is a direct result of the inquiry into Ottawa’s LRT, (Metrolinx chief executive officer Michael Lindsay) said. That report said the city’s Confederation Line, which opened in 2019 and was built by a consortium similar to the Crosstown’s, had been rushed into operation after construction delays, resulting in malfunctions, derailments and shutdowns.
—
Now we need to know when Metrolinx will take over Ottawa’s light-rail system as promised by Ontario Premier Doug Ford.
