Lansdowne: City’s Priorities Skewed: Cullen
Former Bay councillor Alex Cullen would use the Lansdowne money for myriad other projects.
This from X:
I can think of many other things in the City to ask the Province for funding well before Lansdowne 2.0: $ for buses, supportive housing, rehab aging arenas & pools, replace aging fire equipment, rehab aging libraries, etc. #ottcity

Adding more police officers to the force to keep things in line and help combat a growing rate of crime.
Alex, rehabbing aging arenas, pools, libraries etc. would mean that city council would have to acknowledge that they let those key local elements of municipal infrastructure deteriorate due to failing to maintain them on a regular schedule. Admitting failure is not a strong suit for councillors.
Let’s not forget the infrastructure we cannot see such as water and sewer pipes as there seems to have been an uptick in water pipes breaking lately. However, what politician wants to do a photo-op in front of a water or sewer pipe but a photo-op following the completion of Lansdowne 2.0 is every politician’s dream.
