A Slap-Shot To The Trump: QUOTABLE
“For Canadians, it’s a reminder that we can be galvanized in many ways, but the simplest is to slip a Maple Leaf jersey on a few guys and set them loose. The rest of the country knows what to do. We call it our game, and it still is. Nobody cares about it as much. But that doesn’t mean we own it. If we want precedence, we’re going to have to take it back by force. It’s no moon mission, but it’s not the worst national goal.”
Cathal Kelly, The Globe and Mail
Everybody have fun Thursday night?
Took our hockey guys and Chantal Kreviazuk to tell the mighty president of the United States to go get stuffed.
The victory won’t stop Donald Trump from his childish bating of Canadians or his long drawn-out threats to tariffize us. But even Americans, over time (yes overtime, what a glorious-and-free concept) will tire of this one-trick pony.
Maybe Americans will begin to live the principles behind their realm and throw the Orange out. Trump wears so much bronzer, he should be kept away from open flames. Only two features stand out in the world from outer space, the Great Wall of China and Donald Trump’s head. That said, at least the Chinese said they’d build a wall and did it unlike the personality-challenged leader of what was once a constitutional democracy. Remember if you take the T off Trump, you get the ugliest American.
Well feel damn Canadian today and take faith that the sun would have risen this morning even if our guys lost. And recognize that it shines just a bit brighter here than off Trump’s troubled melon.
Reality starts tomorrow. Live for the present.
If you need a reason to live, think 8:18 into the first overtime in Boston. You’ll be okay.
God bless momma and papa and moose and beavers and snow and Connor McDavid.

Have to wonder why the president did not attend the game as he did for super bowl and Daytona? Perhaps because the USA might have lost? or was he too busy denigrating the Ukraine and Zelinsky?or planing the new condos and golf courses in another country’s turf…Gaza? or kowtowing to Putin? or firing lots of civil serving Americans so as to send out $5K cheques from the “savings” found by the other felon?
Hockey LIVES on as a sport win or loose THANKS TEAM CANADA
Ken. I know that The Bulldog does not permit expletives, but do you think Canadians sitting in front of their TVs were saying “Go get stuffed” last night? What I found most interesting about the match was the pre-game theatre. Wayne Gretzky coming out of the US dressing room to step onto the ice as Canada’s “honorary captain” and the assignation of Mike Eruzione, the captain of America’s “Miracle in Ice” team at the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics act as honorary captain for team USA. Was this supposed to represent the fact that Americans should now view Canada as “baddies”? The most shocking shot, however, was of Wayne Gretzky’s necktie. It’s hard to believe that someone as well-travelled and famous as Gretzky doesn’t know how to tie a double windsor knot. He should get one of his friends to do it for him then loosen it so he can pull it over his head when he dresses up. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
