Amilcar Off To Quebec Transport Agency

OC Transpo general manager Renee Amilcar did not leave the city bus operation without something to go to:




Outgoing OC Transpo general manager Renée Amilcar was named Wednesday the president and chief executive officer of a new Quebec government transportation agency.

The appointment was announced by Geneviève Guibault, the province’s deputy premier and minister of transport and sustainable mobility, who also appointed Ann MacDonald as chair of the board of directors of the new agency called Mobilité Infra Québec.

    Somehow, this comes as no surprise. Clearly, Amilcar had been hard at work … not finding a way to fix our pathetic transit system but lining up a ‘new and Improved’ position.

    Nice to know she will not be on the U.I. payroll for long and her probable “Golden Handshake” might see her through the traumatic transition

    Renee Amilcar has redefined the Peter Principal. I propose we add a new corollary to this theory and call it “The Renee Experience”.

    Given the fundamental design flaws of the O Train Line 1, and our predominantly anglophone language work environment, it was a foregone conclusion that Amilcar was only in Ottawa until another opportunity came up.

    We have no one to blame but the Watson club and its remnants.
