Answers Needed On Biker Church Claims: THE VOTER

We need to know if this inviting a biker church to a demonstration is the work of a rogue police officer or was this official police work directed by his superiors?

(editor’s note: the Ottawa Police Service has denied any such incidents have occurred)

If the former, there should be rapid consequences for the offending officer. If the latter, we have a more serious problem and the police chief needs to provide some explanation immediately.

I have no problem with people peacefully protesting in support of their beliefs but attending protests at the behest of the police is a whole different thing. My second issue with this is what type of police work happens at the actual protest if the police are behind the attendance of some individuals? Are both sides of the issue equally supported by the police as the protest rolls out or does one group get different policing from the other?

In the example cited, at Broadview School, it sounds as if there were children there. Is there any possibility that their safety could have been compromised? Particularly at the behest of a police officer? Not okay.

The Voter is right; i.e., something is amiss regarding the Biker’s claim or the police’s denial. If memory serves, some members of the OPS were advising the Truckers of police strategy when the Truckers were holding down town Ottawa “hostage”.

Kind of sad when one’s gut says to take the Biker Church pastor’s word over that of the police. And it’s not because he’s a man of the cloth.
