This from Bluesky:

Roch Bourassa:

#ottawa #ottpoli needs to get away from rampant low-tax increase politicians who seem to have taken over since post-amalgamation.

That political mindset is in dire need of change. It’s long past its best-before date!

Will 2026 muni elxn show if ottawa is ready to invest 0r keep using band-aids?

Paul:

Generally speaking, inside the greenbelt wants to see significant changes in how this city is run

Outside the greenbelt always seems to be a different story

Perhaps because the entropic breakdown in infrastructure has not yet paid visits to their new-ish streets, sidewalks and community facilities

Why did what I pay the city increase by 12% from June to July? Levies are being loaded up to hide backdoor tax increases
My neighbour noticed her annual tax and levy bill went up $600 per year, 12% too
Take a really good look at your tax bill. It’s shocking

The City has a $10.2 billion funding gap to maintain its infrastructure & facilities in good repair. Sutcliffe’s low tax approach does not address this. Not a responsible approach to government.
