Let’s look at the Quebec electric school bus fiasco. One catches fire and there’s no school bus transportation for days.
Kids have to take school buses but adults will weigh the risks and there are other choices.
All it takes is one electrical fire and the public’s confidence in public transportation is destroyed.
You can’t recovery from that.
The city rushed the LRT project and the resulting fiasco is something city planners and project managers would probably like to avoid yet again. My vote on this referendum is to take the time and do it right.
