Ford Money Would Cinch Lansdowne Vote: POTTER
University of Ottawa professor Evan H. Potter thinks a provincial Lansdowne money offer would make the project a reality.

?1/3 @_MarkSutcliffe is laying groundwork for @fordnation to fund #lansdowne. My thoughts on timing…@KenGray @JCHIANELLO @Alex_S_Cullen @Charlie_Senack @LeiperOttawa
Ottawa could apply for provincial funding to build Lansdowne 2.0, minister said https://t.co/hDebn6yGJq

2/2 @_MarkSutcliffe has always had 12 Yes Councilor Votes to pass L2. That’s why @fordnation money is optional for #Lansdowne 2.0—but priceless as PR. When the heat comes, Sutcliffe will point to Queen’s Park and say: “See, #ottawa, I got you this $.” @WilsonLo24 @SamHersh01

Whether the money comes from the municipality or the province, the taxpayer still pays. The project will either be paid by Ottawa taxpayers or residents throughout the province. How happy would Ottawans be if they had to pay for a project that was used by a fraction of Torontonians? Wrapping this project in a different-flavoured burrito does little to alter the overall flavour.
Sisco, Ottawa taxpayers will be paying twice. Ford is only contributing “some ” money the rest will come from Ottawa taxpayers. The big winner, as it always was, is OSEG .
