Hwy. 174 Ramp To Close For LRT Gas Line Fix

This is a release from the City of Ottawa:

This email is to provide an update on the status of Line 1 service to Blair Station due to a gas leak caused by a collision this morning.

Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) has started their investigation and determined that to complete the repairs equipment must be brought to the impacted area using Highway 174. A lane closure of the Blair Road on-ramp to the westbound 174 will be required to provide this access. OC Transpo is working in collaboration with Ottawa Traffic Services to facilitate the closure and minimize impacts to motorists where possible.

OC Transpo has determined that service at Blair Station can resume safely on both platforms while repairs to the gas line are undertaken. Switch heaters near Blair Station will not be functioning as they receive gas through the damaged line. OC Transpo will monitor the switches carefully until the gas line is fully repaired, and RTM will have staff available to manually clear snow or debris from the switches if required.

R1 bus service will be providing final trips to ensure that all customers are accommodated.

OC Transpo staff continue to be at key stations supporting customers, and we will continue to share updates as they become available.

Thank you,

So a car hit a gas line And the LRT was closed for security threat. That was an unusual way to call this accident. Kind of suspicious

Is there a time stamp on that release? The end of R1 seems to have announced twice today.
