The prime takeaway for me is that whoever is the intended recipient (or recipients) of this Get Ready With Me video does not matter enough.
Where are the limits of this type of messaging? Does her camera accompany her to the toilet and the shower as she’s getting ready for her day? Do men make videos while shaving? Who’s her audience and are they also getting ready while they listen to her?
You get the respect you earn and deserve in this world. This isn’t how you do that.
The Voter is a respected community activist and long-time Bulldog commenter who prefers to keep her identity private.

Us older folks might not get it and that’s okay. Get ready with me videos are very common among young women. They matter too.
Not everything has to be for or about you to be valid.
“Get Ready With Me Videos”? I did not know such an animal existed. Thanks for the warning. Next time I see a social commentary containing “get ready with me” I’ll be sure I don’t waste time opening the post and make sure it goes “post-haste” into file 13.

The entire video is embarrassing to the nth degree. I cannot believe a City of Ottawa councillor would create a video of her make-up application while speaking about something as serious as renovation.
Councillor Troster really needs to give her head a good, hard shake.
Further to my previous comment, I just showed this video to my wife. I was able to stomach 1:16 of this travesty yesterday. After 10 seconds my wife shouted “IS SHE SERIOUS? STOP!” The U.S. is going to ban Tik Tok (one of the few things I agree with DumbOld Trumpf on). Let’s get Mark Sutcliffe to ban “Get Ready With Me” videos.
