LRT Line 1 Service Stopped For 3 Hours Friday
As The Bulldog reported earlier, the LRT Confederation Line went down around 6 p.m. on Friday.
However, the release neglected to point out how long the line was down.
City media relations kindly responded to Bulldog inquiries with the information that the line was running again at about 9 p.m.
Many thanks for the extra work by city media relations on a summer weekend.

Just imagine if this had been a hockey game night
You know that many of us knew this by looking at the time stamps of the power loss tweet and R1 ending tweet?
Other questions are:
Did every train have enough power to get to the next station?
If no, how long did it take to evacuate all riders?
Did stations lose power too?
If yes, how much did powering up backup power cost, time to do it, did any fail?
If the cause was human error, what safeguards will be added to prevent a repeat.
Good point C.
Imagine a family of four laying out $500 for tickets and missing the whole game over three hours.
Imagine having kids with you freezing at the light-rail station.
This is just another of many reasons to keep the arena in Kanata.
cheers
