Have you forgotten? The City, whether it be via staff or Council, have an infinite ability to misspend our money on foolishness and wrong-headedness. The more questionable the venture is, the more they will embrace it. Heaven forbid they should channel that creative power into thinking up ways the City could be run efficiently and effectively for the benefit of its residents and any business that’s not involved in the development sector.
Lincoln’s concept of government of the people, for the people and by the people hasn’t been heard of in Ottawa municipal circles for such a long time that councillors and staff may well be unaware that it even exists.
