I am fine paying more to help other Canadians suffering under Trumps tax. The auto workers, steel and aluminum, agriculture and manufacturing sectors are hard hit. The support has to come from somewhere. This money collected is not burned in a pile, it is reused by those in need which then is spent in our country for stuff we make/grow.
You can easily exempt yourself from those tariffs by not buying American goods. That sends a message to Trump & Co. that we can reduce our reliance on them as they become unreliable.
Yes, there may be things we can’t get elsewhere but they are few and far between. It just takes a little searching and devotion to the cause. In the long run, he may find it’s not as easy to roll over Canada as he thought it would be.
