Pay Rent For Stornoway, Pierre Poilievre

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre can’t live at Stornoway because he’s not the Leader of the Opposition.

And that’s because he’s without a seat in the House of Commons having lost, surprisingly, in local Carleton riding.

However, Poilievre is likely to be back in the Commons in a few months as an Alberta Conservative will give up his seat so that the Conservatives will have a permanent Leader of the Opposition.

So what to do with Stornoway and Poilievre’s family in the meantime?

City Must Think Big, Not Small: BENN

Moving your family for a few months is likely to be a bit troublesome. And moving is a big job. Having to do it twice in a short period of time is cruel and unusual punishment.

So here’s a solution. Have Poilievre pay rent for Stornoway until he’s back in the Commons. It’s a public property and demands upkeep. So while Poilievre is temporarily out of office for a few months, he can help cover the costs.

And that way, he doesn’t have to move twice.

Now maybe there are arcane Constitutional arguments that prevent this solution (Who knows?), but practically, this works.

And Poilievre, who has been enjoying the handsome perks of government for 21 years, or most of his adult life, can get a feel for being a civilian again, with all the non-perks that come with it.

Or, Mr Polievre can move back into his house in Greely, if he hasn’t sold it, and benefit from the joys of riding OC Transpo to get to work.

I agree with sisco, he is not an MP, and could loose in another election. (and hopefully the PC’s will get him out of leadership). The disgusting restrictive access to the media, a divisive sneaky campaign, and the lack of ability to get a security clearance says they/we would be better off without him and his games. PM is a serious job for unity.
