Plante Is Never Having To Say You’re Sorry: BENN

Rideau-Vanier Councillor Stephanie Plante has made it clear in her multiple public remarks that she has no regrets for any of the social media comments she made.

In particular she has no regrets about the comments and posts that led to integrity commissioner Karen Shepherd’s  recommendations of a censure and financial penalty.

Plante has stated clearly and unequivocally that she insulted no one. That someone was insulted by her comments? Not her problem.

In short, anything approximating a meaningful, true public apology is unlikely to be issued by Plante. Perhaps she will, at some point in the ill-defined future, come to an epiphany that her tone, her words, her publishing of the “man-splaining” were taken as an insult.

But, I doubt it. She dug the hole she is in and she remains too obstinate to acknowledge it.

Ron Benn, a finance executive, has been a member of the Centrepointe Community Association for the better part of three decades.
