Things Could Get Slow At The Border: BLUESKY
Bluesky contributor Nick Kellett takes a passive aggressive response to dealing with U.S. tariffs:
Maybe we don’t embargo anything. BUT, first our border agents have gotta make sure the electricity, nickel or potash export doesn’t contain fentanyl. It’s gonna take AWHILE, they’re real backed up. And then the Fentanyl Tsar’s gotta personally verify they didn’t miss anything. Could take months.

I also think that any truck entering Ontario needs to be road-worthy. How long would it take to do a check of each vehicle that came to the border? Is every driver properly licensed? Are their log-books up to date and do they satisfy Ontario regulations? So many things that should be verified …

And a detailed search for fentanyl. Another 13 grams could come across the border.

Ken,
And definitely check every truck for illegal migrants. They aren’t all heading stateside. Although we would make sure to treat them humanely and not just turn them back to the US. That would definitely qualify as cruel and unusual punishment.
I am with my fellow Canadians who think we should be asking for vaccination certificates from Yanks at the border. On a lighter note, I think we should be asking them if they want to dump their load at the end of the border bridge and apply for citizenship.
