WOW Not just another day at city hall but a day to celebrate Bylaw Services.!! What next? Road patchers anonymous? Weed control day? Fire Hydrant painting? Sidewalk pavement day? Light replacement hour? Ottawa certainly has hit the BIG TIME as a “world Class” ? city.

  2. David says:

There should be a by-law against municipal government foolishness in a city facing financial ruin and gross mis-management.

  3. Anderson Davies says:

Don’t give them any ideas Bruce.

  4. Doug says:

Morale within the By-law and Regulatory Services Department must be at an all time low if the Mayor has concluded that the By-law and Regulatory Services personnel need a “flag day” pick me upper! Our tax dollars are paying some one with a six figure salary to come up with sterling suggestion suggestions such as this? This suggestion rates right up there with a contest to name snowplows. Maybe city hall needs some one who can provide acceptable sober second thoughts?

  5. David says:

Doug: A Department of Sober Second Thoughts? Excellent. Suggested initiatives. SOPs: (A)Every “mail” must be on paper and counter-signed. (B)Every mail recipient must acknowledge receipt and ask “Are you sure?” (C)No action on a thrice-approved mail directive may be carried out without a full team meeting to approve. (D)Team approvals must sit on a desk for one week till they cool off.

David: Commenting on the silliness that goes on at City Hall is like shooting fish in a barrel with an unending supply of fish; but you and all of the other Bulldog readers already knew that.
