Toronto LRT Woes Related To Ottawa Fiasco

An interesting paragraph Tuesday morning from a Globe and Mail story discussing the 30-day testing period for the five-years late Eglinton light-rail line. It relates to Ottawa’s LRT woes:


The exhaustive testing is a direct result of the inquiry into Ottawa’s LRT, (Metrolinx chief executive officer Michael Lindsay) said. That report said the city’s Confederation Line, which opened in 2019 and was built by a consortium similar to the Crosstown’s, had been rushed into operation after construction delays, resulting in malfunctions, derailments and shutdowns.

Now we need to know when Metrolinx will take over Ottawa’s light-rail system as promised by Ontario Premier Doug Ford.
