The fall service change includes the following:

• Service adjustments for construction

• Seasonal service changes

• Service adjustments

• O-Train Line 2 Service Schedule Changes

>

• Change to the Youth pass

This is a release from the City of Ottawa:

Service Adjustments for Construction

As a result of road reconstruction and other infrastructure projects, the following route may  experience delays, detours, and additional travel time:

• Route 14 will be on detour via Montréal Road and Vanier Parkway due to watermain  renewal along McArthur Avenue.

Details of all service adjustments for construction projects will be available on  octranspo.com/alerts as they are confirmed.

Seasonal Service Changes

Seasonal Adjustments

• Summer frequency reductions on Routes 7 and 25 will end, ready for the return of  higher ridership at Carleton University and La Cité.

• Labour Day, Monday, September 1, will be the last day of operation for the summer  service on Route 125 to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, Route 139 to  Petrie Island, and the Route 8 extension to the Canada Agriculture and Food  Museum.

School Services

• School trips and school routes in the 600-series will resume.

• Changes to school service have been made based on observed ridership levels and  in consultation with the four school boards and their student transportation  authorities.

• Full details on specific changes to school routes will be available on octranspo.com in  advance of the return to school.

• As the new school year approaches, OC Transpo remains in close contact with  school boards and their student transportation authorities to ensure the transportation  needs of all students are met and concerns are addressed.

Service to Major Events

• Ottawa Redblacks games – Fares to and from the event are included with the event  ticket. Special 450-series service is provided to bring customers to and from the  games.

• Supplementary service for CityFolk, Army Run, and the Panda Game will be  determined closer to the event date in consultation with event organizers. Any  supplemental or adjusted service for the events will be communicated to customers  through OC Transpo’s regular communication channels.

Holidays

• Labour Day – Monday, September 1, 2025 – Bus and train service will operate on a  Sunday schedule.

• National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – Tuesday, September 30, 2025 – Bus and  train service will operate on a weekday schedule.

• Remembrance Day – Tuesday, November 11, 2025 – Bus and train service will  operate on a weekday schedule.

Service Adjustments

• New Route 105 will be introduced to provide bus service to the Ottawa International Airport from St-Laurent and Hurdman stations, which will offer more options for east end residents accessing the airport. The route will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a  week, approximately every 30 minutes. Overnight, when O-Train Line 1 is not  operating, buses will connect to the Airport from Rideau and Hurdman stations. The  new overnight service will replace Route N98, and the new service to the Airport will  replace part of Route 197. Frequency and capacity along the Southeast Transitway  will be unchanged. Route 105 will provide direct connections to the Airport from O Train Line 1 at Hurdman Station and from intercity buses and trains at St-Laurent and  Tremblay stations. Route number 105 was selected in honour of the Avro Canada  CF-105 Arrow, a supersonic aircraft and symbol of Canadian innovation.

• Most trips on Route 58 will be extended to operate to and from Tunney’s Pasture  Station to provide a direct connection to O-Train Line 1. The frequency and capacity  between Bayshore and Tunney’s Pasture stations will be unchanged. Some trips on  Route 58 will continue to end at Bayshore Station.

• The times of some trips will be adjusted slightly on Routes 25, 30, 32, 33, 35, 39, and  221 to improve the spacing of departures from Blair Station in the afternoon peak  period.

O-Train Line 2 Service Schedule Changes

As communicated in the June 30 response to inquiry OCC-2025-08, “O-Train Line 2 Service  Schedule,” earlier start times for Monday to Saturday service on O-Train Line 2 are planned  for September. Staff will provide further information on the introduction of the new O-Train  Line 2 service schedules when arrangements are complete.

Change to the Youth Pass

As of September 1, the discounted Youth monthly pass will be discontinued. Customers who  currently have a Youth concession set on their Presto card will be charged an Adult monthly  pass on September 1. This change is part of the 2025 fare change approved by City Council  as part of the 2025 budget.

I wonder if the discontinuation of the youth pass will increase the cost for the student transportation authority.

If it does, it’s essentially a property tax increase shifting money from the transportation authority to OC Transpo and causing an increase in property taxes to support the increase costs for student transportation.
