When Will Tesla Get Tariffs? THE VOTER
I await the announcement that ‘certain’ cars will be exempt from the tariffs on imports to the U.S. from China.
More than half of all Teslas are manufactured in China. Among other Chinese interests, Tesla chief Elon Musk has a huge car plant in Shanghai and is adding a battery manufacturing plant close by that will supply his Tesla cars. All of his Chinese plants are staffed by Chinese workers. You know, those workers that are stealing good-paying American jobs. Those jobs that Trump wants to bring back to the good old US of A.
Do you think that the meetings he has with Chinese authorities about increasing his output of cars from China could be part of the background for the U.S. Air Force refusing to grant him a security clearance that would allow him to participate in meetings and discussions related to the program that sees his SpaceX company launch spy satellites for the USAF? They have specifically cited “meetings with foreign leaders” as a cause for the denial.
SpaceX wanted clearance under the Special Access Program for Musk. This is higher than ‘Top Secret” which Musk already has. He has persistently refused to report on the meetings he has with leaders of China and other countries or to provide his itineraries for the times he is in foreign countries. The USAF has refused to give him access to information that could be useful to foreign governments or companies.
Gee, does this mean they don’t trust him? But isn’t he the president’s BFF? Doesn’t that mean he can, like Trump, do whatever he wants to do?

Elon Musk is just another guy waiting to be assigned a disrespectful nickname. Should we wait for DumbOld or start a pool here at The Bulldog?
Sisco,
I think a pool is definitely in order to see who can pick the date that Musk falls out of favour with Trump. Maybe extra points for the person who can identify in advance what the issue will be that will drive these two bosom buddies apart.
Maybe we could set up a separate pool for which of his cabinet will be first to fall afoul of the orange man and get replaced. That one kind of feels like shooting fish in a barrel though.
I’m sure Ken could be prevailed upon to offer up a free two-year subscription to The Bulldog for each of the winners!
The Voter:
Three year subscription.
