OC Transpo Needs Massive Culture Change: BENN

Assuming away reality is a path to failure. Decisions based on “If only” are doomed for failure.

The city auditor general released a report on OC Transpo’s New Ways to Bus, a revamp of the city’s bus service. The overall assessment was not flattering. Failures to use current bus route data. Failures to adjust for known staffing problems. Failures to adjust for existing fleet conditions. In short, long on assuming away reality. Long on ‘if only’. Long on failure.

What the AG report highlights is that OC Transpo management was not up to the task of scheduling buses. At least not back in 2025.
