Larry O’Brien Reprised In Election ’26

 

 

Okay, is this 2026 or 2006? In Ottawa municipal politics, it’s hard to tell.

In 2006, big businessman Larry O’Brien came from out of nowhere to defeat former mayor Bob Chiarelli in an amazing run from the right.

Now according to a Liaison Strategies poll this week, we see small businessman Alex Lawson making a move from the right. Two decades, same phenomenon. The more things change, the more they repetitiously stay the same. Maybe that’s not change.
