City Hall Lacks Contacts In Emergency: BENN

In 2022 shortly after city manager Steve Kanellakos left city hall just prior to the damning provincial LRT inquiry report by Justice William Hourigan, I asked former mayor Bob Chiarelli what he would look for in a new city manager.

His response was quick and to the point. The position requires someone with a “rolodex” (contact list for those born during the current millennium). Not just the phone numbers of the senior most bureaucrats and elected officials within the city, but also at the provincial and federal level.
