Ottawa Needs Affordable Cycling Solutions: CRERAR

 

 

A number of years ago, a cyclist was travelling eastward on the south side of Laurier Avenue protected from traffic by a new bike lane.

He was riding without a helmet, hands off his handlebars, texting on his cell phone. It was a jaw-dropping moment. So much for the theory that constructing bicycle lanes will make the world safe for cyclists.
