I’m not surprised that this so-called “night mayor” picked to live in Gatineau. Come on he is a Montrealer. All the way from the night life to the dull life in Ottawa. Did you expect anything different. Did he decide to run away from Ottawa after the shooting on the market the other night. Why is he here anyway? What does he think he accomplish in Ottawa? If he thinks he can make Ottawa into a form of Montreal, it will never work. Didn’t anyone tell him that? He’s better off staying in Gatineau and become a night mayor there. He is an insult to Ottawa living in Gatineau.
I’m not sure just when this changed but I know that back in the days of Charlotte Whitton if you drew a paycheque from the City of Ottawa, you had to live here.
This is just ludicrous. Did it not occur to him (or anyone else) that the optics wouldn’t be good? He’s yelling from his rooftop that Ottawa’s not the place to live and won’t be anytime soon.
Unless, of course, he’s so confident in the change he’s about to deliver that he doesn’t want his family kept up at night by the wild goings-on on this side of the river.
Safety… it’s a lot safer in Gatineau than living in Ottawa
