Staff Illness Caused O-Train Weekend Shutdown

This email is to provide further information on the staffing issues that affected O-Train Lines 1 and 4 over the weekend and our work to improve service delivery for customers.

On the afternoon of Saturday, May 16, there were staffing issues on Line 4, resulting in suspended train service. In addition, on Saturday evening, Line 1 was suspended at 9 pm due to a shortage of controllers in the Transit Operations Control Centre, primarily due to illness. We recognize this is disruptive for customers and appreciate everyone’s patience on Saturday. Lines 1, 2 and 4 operated normally on Sunday, May 17.
